GET Help Now

If you’re struggling with your mental health or need someone to talk to there is lots of help available. There’s no need to struggle alone. It is important to look for support when you are struggling – maybe there is a family member or friend you can talk to who can give you support and help you find services that can meet your needs.
As well as this you can:

  • Contact your GP who will know what supports are available in your area or go on the HSE’s online service finder to find a local GP
  • Visit the HSE’s YourMentalHealth.ie website – it’s full of useful information and lists a wide range of supports by area so you can find something that suits you
  • Call the Samaritans 24 hour helpline. There’s always a friendly voice on the other end of the phone who can give you support and information on what other services might meet your needs – their number is 116 123 from the Republic of Ireland 084 57 90 90 90 from Northern Ireland or you can email jo@samaritans.org, or visit www.samaritans.ie
  • If you feel that you can’t keep yourself safe or are supporting someone else who can’t then go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital straight away

Remember you are not alone and there are lots of supports out there. It might take some time to find the right support for you but don’t give up – it is out there and things can and do change for the better.
